La Buvette des Tartes Kluger 77 rue des Rosiers. Take a break from rummaging in the market and settle into this cosy, chic little buvette in Habitat’s “vintage village” for a slice of home-made tart. Unusual fillings, such as Thai salmon and courgette, pumpkin, chestnut and mushroom, or passion fruit with a hazelnut meringue topping, are all delicious. Sat & Sun 9.30am–6pm.

Chez Louisette Allée 10, Vernaison. An old-school buvette buried at the end of Marché Vernaison’s Allée 10. The great gypsy jazz guitarist, Django Reinhardt, sometimes played here, but these days singers belt out Parisian chanson with keyboard backing every Sunday afternoon. The food, famously, is very much not the thing, and the diner-like ambience won’t be to all tastes, but it’s a kitsch classic. Sat & Sun 10am–6pm, Mon 10.30am–5.30pm.
